Teachers

Our experienced Year 3 teachers bring with them a wealth of knowledge regarding curriculum and strategies for this year level.

Program

In Year 3 we follow the school program which is an integrated approach to education. Learning activities are planned and centred around units of work.

Throughout Term One our focus is on our world and where we live in relation to space. We study the planets and culminate with a field trip to the Planetarium where we study the night sky. In Term Two we learn about our local community from past to present with a focus on transport, education, clothing and toys. This unit of study includes a visit to an historical village. Term 3 sees us visiting the Brisbane Exhibition and Show as we learn about goods and services, people and jobs in our community. We visit the various pavilions including Industry, Agriculture, Resources and Food. In our final term our focus will be on the rainforest and our 2 night stay at Camp Constable on Mt Glorious.

Throughout the year children have many learning experiences which help them develop skills across a wide variety of curriculum areas. We enjoy many extra curricular activities including Under Eights Day, Junior Sports Day, Book Week, Science Fair, Carols Night and our annual school swimming carnival.
