MORETON ISLAND CAMP

From the 20 th to the 25 th of March the Year 6 students went to Moreton Island for a week’s camping trip. We had a great time with the various activities, such as sand tobogganing, swimming at the Blue Lagoon, fishing in the ocean, having a surf carnival, playing beach cricket, catching yabbies at the tidal flats, swimming in the surf and going for beach walks. We would like to thank the teachers and parents for such an awesome week!

Here are some photos of us enjoying our Moreton Island camp….

Here is the giant sand dune we all raced down on our boards.

But first…. we had to climb it!

Sand tobogganing was such great fun. We had sand covering every part of our body, even in our mouth and nose!

This is Zac getting ready to climb the sand dune with his goggles on.

Blink and you’ll miss us zooming down the dune, we were going so fast!

A group of us climbed up this massive sand dune with Miss Campling and

Mr Whittred. It was really hard work but had a view of the whole island that was worth our effort. Some students made it all the way up the hill even though they wanted to give up – well done!!

Catching yabbies at the tidal flats was so much fun. Those who went fishing in the surf didn’t have much luck, but some of us caught fish in our hats in the shallow water!
